2019 Fair Dates Announced

Throughout it's long history, The Monroe County (NY) Fair has experienced dozens of ups and downs. For a nutshell history, see "Whatever Happened To The (Old) Monroe County Fair?" As the article points out, during the past decade, there's been a big decline in the size of the fair. Now, having just completed it's 2nd year at a new location in Rush, things are looking up. While the Monroe County Fair is still small compared to other county fairs, it has begun to take on it's own unique character. While the rides and midway are gone, the carnival atmosphere has been replaced with a more family friendly vibe that puts the emphasis on agriculture, animal shows, crafts, music and promoting local talent. With the dates set for 2019, the fair looks to expand it's offerings. It may comes as a surprise, but the fair operates without any support from the county it serves. It is only through the efforts of a dedicated group of volunteers and sponsors that the Monroe County Fair tradition continues.
