Each August, on the second Saturday of the month, the grounds of the Henderson Historical Society comes alive with exciting crafter's booths, food vendors, community groups, free demonstrations and entertainment. Like a great family reunion, the Henderson area-community gathers to celebrate its heritage and enjoy the best of New York State high quality craft offerings (see Juried Craft Show Application).
The event begins about 9:00AM with crafter's tents set up between the winding walking path and the 1820's authentic log cabin. Henderson civic and non-profit groups participate with their wares & invitations for prospective members(see Non-Profit Application). At the Historical Society table is a variety of historic items for purchase and a local author's book signing. Games and activities are available for families and children. The "Ray" log cabin and the main church building exhibits are open for tours. Music entertainment begins at 1 PM and concludes the day at 3 PM, when the Silent Auction results from the main building are read aloud.
The Heritage Day event is free and open to the public with parking adjacent to the grounds. The main Church building has a handicap accessible ramp, and the Park Pavillion has handicap facilities.
