From 20th Annual Dolgeville Violet Festival Website:

June 8,9,10, 2018 20th Violet Festival

The Violet Festival preserves the historical aspects of the Village of Dolgeville through the use of innovative, artistic, and educational displays throughout the year. There is an emphasis on the communities rich horticultural history, which culminates with the annual Dolgeville Violet Festival the 2nd Friday, Saturday and Sunday of June each year. The Festival draws more than 75 vendors; 80 organizations that participate in the parade; and over 10,000 people to the Village during the three-day event.

The annual week-end event is named in honor of Lyndon Lyon who developed the first Double Pink Violets in the world, from his greenhouse in Dolgeville.

The week-end will begin Friday evening with the Crowning of the Festival King and Queen, and the presentation of Lyndon Lyon Community Award. The Violet Festival Princess Pageant will also be held that evening.

The renowned parade is Saturday morning at 10:00 AM. Bring your chairs, it is a long parade.
