Fall Fest
October 4, 2014

Put this on the calendar, and make plans to Fall into fun!

This year's event will be filled with fabulous fiber-arts demonstrations, displays, a knit-in, presentations, plus quilts, woolens, scarves, and other items for sale by local artisans.

Fun for the whole family will include wagon rides, pony rides, pumpkin painting, apple pressing and cider samples, fall crafts, giant leaf piles for raking and jumping, music performances, and more.

Wagon Rides and Pony Rides with Circle B Ranch
Visitors of all ages can take a seat on a hay bale in a rustic wagon and enjoy the horses' clip-clops on a leisruely ride through the autumn-kissed museum campus.

Younger children can take a fun ride on the back of a little pony on the museum's Great Lawn.

The Boggia family started Circle B Ranch more than 40 years ago. They had a dream to create a ranch that combined the beauty of the Adirondacks with the freedom of a horse and its rider.

When Chris Boggia was only 10 years old, his father moved the family from Queens, N.Y., to Chestertown, N.Y. And the rest is history: a dream was born. Since that day, he has hardly spent a day away from the ranch. He continues the family tradition with his three girls, his dedicated ranchhands, the horse herd, and a well-oiled tractor.

Running a ranch like Circle B takes a lot of work and talent. A four-season ranch, Circle B keeps everything running smooth all year round. From ranch managment to trailguiding, from providing riding lessons and training to repairing machinery, the Circle B team is a tight-knit group of over a dozen seasonal and full-time helpers.

The horse herd (or "remuda" in ranch terms) is just as much a part of the Circle B team as the ranch staff. From the large draft horses that pull the ranch's snow sleighs to the ponies that delight the little ones, the horse team is a dedicated and experienced lot.
