Description: | From Long Beach Irish Day Website: On Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 11am Division 17 of the Ancient Order of Hibernians will be celebrating its 24th anniversary Saint Brendan the Navigator Irish Heritage Day Parade and Festival in the City of Long Beach, New York.
We anticipated a higher turnout than our usual 30,000 spectators to line West Beech Street this year due to the continuing recovery efforts of the City of Long Beach and its residents from the devastating Hurricane Sandy.
The parade features bagpipe bands, marching bands, Irish step dancers, AOH division's, Emerald Societies and local (civic, veteran, ethnic and religious) organizations.
Many of the local organizations manned kiosks through out the festival. Each kiosk provides you with an opportunity to support or educate yourself about each organization's mission.
The Festival has live Irish music, Irish centric vendors, food, treats and amusements for the entire family.
